Several hundred units delivered worldwide. Here are selected programmes described by the duty, the integration work and what the engineering required.
A target mass flow of about 2.7 kg/s put the duty in dual-core CPT 95 territory. Packaging analysis identified that an off-centre turbine exhaust could create a vortex in the central casing, so the interface incorporated a diffuser to decelerate the hot gas before expansion.
A custom recuperator for TurboGen’s TR2000, with mounting and casing geometry developed around the programme interfaces. A separate CPT 55 programme is active for the same customer.
More than ten recuperator units were ordered for Bladon’s MTG12 and MTP40 platform. The work called for a compact core suited to the package and its repeated thermal duty.
Documented work includes biomass drying from diesel-engine exhaust, steam-generation tests with a GAP-type exchanger, a bypass system built into a recuperator and casing redesign to correct gas-flow distribution.
Mass flow, gas temperature, allowable pressure drop and the envelope you have are the useful start to an engineering conversation.
